Meet Lottie: Balancing Barre, Business and Babies
Juggling family life and a busy career, Lottie swears by Barre as her non-negotiable time for movement and energy. She first discovered the Barre burn we all love during lockdown and hasn’t looked back since. Now, with The Barre Coach app in her pocket, she stays motivated by planning ahead and knowing she’ll never regret a workout. Plus, she’s got a few go-to essentials—hydration, good leggings, and a playlist to keep her moving!
1. Tell us a little about yourself! What’s your daily life like?
I’m Charlotte also known as Lottie, I am a wife, twin mama and franchise partner for a global hairdressing brand. My days are spent chasing around our 2 year old tots and managing my salon while always prioritising health and exercise. Discovering new destinations and creating unforgettable memories is my passion.
2. What made you decide to try Barre, and how did you find The Barre Coach?
I fell in love with Barre during lockdown 2020 when I was unable to go to my regular gym but still wanted to continuing exercising. I joined an online community. Barre was like no other exercise I had done before. I was instantly hooked to moving my body in this way & using muscles I didn’t know existed. I was instantly hooked to the barre “burn”. I found The Barre Coach when I was expecting our girls and looking to continue Barre postnatally. I was looking for someone who had personal experience with postnatal exercise. Gen just so happened to be expecting the same time as me & had completed extensive courses in pre and postnatal Barre. I can’t thank Gen enough for all her advice & for giving me the confidence to get back to Barre after my c-section.
3. How do Barre classes fit into your weekly routine and how do you stay motivated?
I aim to do 2/3 Barre classes a week. Having a young family means everything requires careful planning. The best time to exercise for me is in the morning first thing. I always plan to do my classes in the week & give myself the weekends to rest or catch up if something comes up and I’m not able to exercise on my usual days. The key for me to stay motivated is remembering your why. You will never regret doing a class you will only ever regret not doing one.
4. What’s been the biggest change you’ve noticed since starting Barre?
The biggest change for me is the emotional shift even on the toughest days when totally sleep deprived I always feel energised and uplifted after Barre. Barre is my non-negotiable.
5. Do you have a favourite class or type of workout?
My favourite class changes depending on my energy levels and time in my cycle but I always love a strength or cardio combined class. Class 7 of the Barre x Strength challenge is my new fav.
6. What’s your workout “must-have” (favourite leggings, playlist, or post-class snack)?
I always start my day with Humantra electrolytes to ensure I’m well hydrated and support consistent energy levels. Himalayan Lime is my favourite flavour. My go to active wear is Lululemon. Their align leggings have always been my favourite. I'm yet to find others that compare.
