My Experience at Peligoni PACE Week: A Fitness Retreat Like No Other
This October, I had the absolute pleasure of teaching as part of PACE Week at The Peligoni Club in Greece, and let me tell you – it was everything I could have dreamed of in a fitness retreat and so much more. Picture this: a week packed with incredible fitness sessions, amazing food, stunning surroundings, and the chance to share it all with people I’d never met before but who couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable and welcomed.
A Day at PACE Week
Each day at PACE Week is filled with opportunities to move, learn, and relax. You can choose from over eight different classes, workshops, and experiences daily. Whether you’re into Barre (one of the most popular classes while I was there with every class oversubscribed at 24+), yoga, strength training, HIIT, westend musical dance sessions, sound baths, meditation workshops, or running technique sessions, there’s something for everyone. And if you’re feeling adventurous, there’s paddleboarding, open-water swimming, cycling, and running through the stunning local area landscape.
The variety is unmatched, and the energy from everyone - instructors and participants alike kept you motivated to try all sorts of new things. You could start with sunrise paddle board, move to a 90 minute yoga and meditation session, followed by HIIT strength in the gym. Spend an hour on the sun decks before tucking into a delicious salad provided by The Detox Kitchen. Your afternoon could be spend climbing the Zakynthos hills on the bike with Sir Chris Hoy before returning to the club for a Move to Improve Lower Body session with me to release any post-cycling tension and finish off with a sunset soundbath before tucking into a delicious feast with the 150+ other participants of PACE week.
Food That Fuels and Delights
PACE Week isn’t just about fitness – it’s also a foodie’s dream. The Peligoni Club’s on-site restaurants serve up some of the most delicious meals. Think fresh, vibrant dishes that nourish your body and soul. Plus, the Detox Kitchen pop-ups were a highlight, offering nutritious and delicious meals to keep your energised throughout the day.
On 2 of the evenings, the club hosts incredible feast nights. Picture long tables filled with mouthwatering dishes, lively conversations, and a true sense of community. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a day of activity and connect with all of the other lovely guests.
Relaxation Meets Connection
Between sessions, there’s plenty of time to relax and soak up the beauty of the Peligoni Club. The sunbathing deck became my go-to spot for unwinding with a good book or just enjoying the incredible views. It’s the ideal balance of activity and downtime, giving you space to recharge and reflect.
One of the most special parts of PACE Week is the people you meet. Whether it’s chatting over a post-workout smoothie, sharing stories during a feast night, or cheering each other on during a class, the sense of camaraderie is undeniable. By the end of the week, I felt like I’d gained a whole new group of friends.
The Practical Details
PACE Week is beautifully organized, and the logistics make it so easy to focus on enjoying yourself. Accommodation is off-site, and you make your way to the Peligoni Club via transfers each day. The fitness package costs £400, which includes all the incredible activities and workshops, and you arrange your accommodation and flights separately through Peligoni.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I reflect on my time at PACE Week, I’m already dreaming about returning in 2025. It’s the perfect escape to reset your body and mind, push your limits, and create unforgettable memories. If you’re considering a fitness retreat that combines movement, relaxation, incredible food, and meaningful connections, Peligoni PACE Week should be at the top of your list.
